Family problems, substance abuse, economic pressure, and the lure of gangs and violence threaten our youth physically and emotionally. Young Entrepreneur Association, Inc. (YEA) of Virginia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing community-based services that support, guide and inspire creative people to develop their skills and knowledge to become resilient, self-sufficient and economic contributors in their communities.
YEA educates members about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Through business workshops, consulting and hands-on volunteer based development, members gain the needed support to become viable stakeholders.

Director of Accounting / Finance
(Board Member)
The Finance Director at YEA will lead on internal financial management to ensure our fast growing organization is running smoothly behind the scenes. We’re looking for an organized and driven individual to strengthen financial management systems, monitor and maintain internal controls, and oversee financial compliance requirements. The Finance Director will monitor and maintain the financial management system to ensure accurate financial reporting, and effective financial analysis and planning. We’re looking for candidates with particular strengths in the following areas: • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, OR certification or training in accounting practices (CPA not required).

Director of Fundraising/ Event Planning
(Board Member)
The Director of Fundraising and Event Planing will plan, coordinate and organize events to raise awareness and funds. Candidates should have experience in event planning, fundraising and accounting skills. This position would be ideal for a motivated individual interested in rolling up their sleeves, expanding their skills, and growing their career. Job Purpose: The Director of Fundraising/Event Planning will contribute to and implement a strategic approach to fundraising which may include corporate support, grant solicitation, major gifts, and in-kind resources. The position will focus on increasing revenues and expanding a base of support for the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:. Under direction of the Marketing and Communications Director, give input and implement a fund development plan that increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization.

Volunteer Coordinator
This position is responsible for supporting the Executive and Board Members by recruiting and training volunteers and interns and assisting with the coordination of donations from our Corporate partnerships and community members and distributing them to clients. Essentials duties and responsibilities include the following. Recruit, screen, orient, train and match volunteers and interns with appropriate service opportunities in accordance with YEA volunteer guidelines. Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date descriptions for all volunteer and internship opportunities. Provide ongoing support to volunteers and interns throughout their service period. Record and report all volunteer time and keep accurate, appropriately documented electronic and paper records of service time. Maintain individual files. Other duties may be assigned.
